Only several weeks ago, the smartphone was said to have sold a number of more than 3 million units in only 55 days after being made available for purchase, and it seems that sales might have accelerated.
However, recent reports on Galaxy S II's performance on the market suggest that the mobile phone might have doubled sales in the past month or so.
If so, the smartphone is fast on track to outpace the Galaxy S in sales. The predecessor managed to top 14 million units sold in less than a year after being brought to the market.
When launched in the United States as well, something that might happen as soon as next month, according to rumors, the Galaxy S II would enjoy faster sales still.
Samsung did not make an official announcement on this until now, but some leaked info suggested that it might launch the device as Samsung Attain for AT&T, Function for Verizon, or Within for Sprint.
Provided that handsets will be moved off the shelves at the same rate as until now, we might see Galaxy S II reaching 10 million devices, in early fall, when Apple might launch its next iPhone model.
