Lenovo Also Produces New LS Series Monitors

Lenovo may have unleashed a new set of desktops not long ago, but that is not all it has been up to, as the company also delivered some monitors to complement them in whatever tasks business users give them.

If there is anything that all computers have in common, not counting laptops and all-in-ones, is that they need a monitor in order to be of any use.

Lenovo already has a range of displays, but when it unleashed the ThinkCentre Edge 71, it also delivered a pair of LS Series monitors of 21.5 inches and 23.6 inches, respectively.

In that order, they are named LS2221 and LS2421p and utilize LED backlighting, their resolutions being 1,920 x 1,080 pixels (Full HD).

The dynamic contrast ratio of both newcomers is 10,000,000:1, while energy consumption is efficient enough that the duo earned Energy Star 5.1 certification and comply with TCO 5.2.

The LS2421p has a brightness of up to 300 nits and features a four-port USB hub, plus HDMI and VGA, while the LS2221 makes do with VGA and DVI.

All this, along with their fairly minimalist appearance, makes them suitable partners for the aforementioned SMB desktop series.

“The new ThinkCentre Edge 71 and Lenovo LS Series monitors are designed from the ground up for small-to-medium businesses, giving them the style, features and functionality they need,” said Tom Shell, vice president and general manager, Worldwide ThinkCentre Business Unit, Lenovo.

“Our LS Series monitors include everything customers need: a large screen that displays eye-popping graphics, reliable technology that just works and convenient extras like touch-enabled buttons to easily adjust hardware settings.”

Set to start selling this month (August 2011), the LS2221 and LS2421p are priced at $229.99 and $299.99, respectively, putting them a couple of months ahead of the ThinkCentre Edge 71 itself, whose coming is only set for October.
