Lenovo Intros ThinkCentre Edge 71 Business Desktop

The already large collection of business computers that the worldwide market has to choose form has grown, now that Lenovo has presented its most recent ThinkCentre Edge line of both small and large systems.

Lenovo's ThinkCentre line of computer systems already has a certain reputation among businesses around the world.

As such, it is not surprising to learn that the company decided it was time for some new models to join the ranks of this product collection.

What the company did, among other things mentioned in its recent press release, was deliver the ThinkCentre Edge 71.

It is aimed at SMB users and, while staying within reasonable price limits, can serve well those users that need to perform image editing tasks and the like.

While the Intel HD graphics of current-generation Intel Core chips can hold their own, Lenovo also gives the option of AMD solutions.

Furthermore, up to 1 TB of storage space can be implemented, unless customers want speed, in which case SSDs are also available.

Needless to say, the potential maximum amount of memory is significant as well, as demanded by the processing and graphics capabilities (up to 8 GB DDR3 RAM).

The list of hardware one might find useful includes a DVD drive (player or writer), six USB ports, Gigabit Ethernet and optional wireless Lenovo Ultra Slim Plus Wireless Keyboard and Mouse.

Finally, with a starting price of $369, the ThinkPad Edge 71 can be housed inside either a small form factor enclosure or a tower and features BIOS-included password protection, plus technologies like Rescue and Recovery, Power Manager and System Update.

Finally, a hidden, rubber grip handle exists, to make moving the system about easy.

Unfortunately, the newcomer is not immediately available and will only start to be delivered through business partners starting in October this year (2011).
